Building a Healthier Community Campaign
The YWCA’s Building a Healthier Community Campaign represents a community-wide effort to raise funds to support $3,500,000 in essential improvements and expansion at the YWCA’s Market Street facilities. Over 500 foundations, businesses and individuals have contributed almost $2M toward this major renovation project.
Once completed, these improvements will greatly expand program opportunities for youth, women and families from throughout the greater Newburyport and southern New Hampshire area.
The YWCA’s new Aquatic Facility will include a:
- Four-lane 25yd “lap” pool
- Warm-water pool for therapeutic and teaching purposes
- Pool viewing area
- Handicap-accessible front and rear entrance with new elevator
- Reconfigured and renovated reception/lobby area
- Renovated and fully outfitted fitness center
- New locker facilities (women’s, men’s and four new family locker rooms)
- Updated networked computer technology to support member services
- Upgrades to multi-purpose spaces for studio classes
- Upgraded “Kid’s Clubhouse” for school-age children’s programming
