The YWCA Greater Newburyport offers a number of friend-raising and fund-raising opportunities that allow the community to support the work of the YWCA. Throughout the calendar year, there are offerings that will expand your mind, open your heart and some that will be just plain FUN!

124th Annual Meeting
Thursday, April 10, 2008, 7 pm at Central Congregational Church Hall, 14 Titcomb Street, Newburyport. Following the business meeting a reception will follow at the YWCA.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - May 2008
Enthusiasm for the reopening of the YWCA’s renovated facility continues to build! Recent media coverage has helped to further publicize the YWCA’s intention to become the community resource for family health and wellness when it reopens in May with a formal ribbon cutting.
First Splash
Saturday, May 31, 2008, from 10 am - 2 pm, at the YWCA. A free community event to celebrate the grand re-opening of the new Health & Wellness Facility at the YWCA. Click here for details.
The YWCA’s active initiatives include:
Martin Luther King Breakfast in January
Supports the racial justice hallmark.
Target audience includes civic, business and non-profit leadership within 12 communities from Boxford north to Southern New Hampshire. Free attendance offered to all area high school students. Program includes keynote speaker, presentation of the Nancy E. Peace Award and an intergenerational educational exercise promoting dialogue on peace, justice and tolerance.
Promoted through local media outlets, YWCA and sponsor web sites.
Attracts 400+ attendees annually. Venue: Georgetown County Club
Sponsorships: $100 - $2,000
Advocacy Committee Volunteer Opportunity
Guest Who’s Coming to Dinner in May
Supports YWCA operations. 20 engaging dinner parties hosted within the greater Newburyport area by gracious benefactors. A special guest of prominence in the arts, science, business, and popular culture provide dinner guests with intimate insight into their work. Click here for more details and a list of our guests.
Attracts 200+ attendees. Ticketed event with sponsorship opportunities.

Visibility/Volunteer Opportunity
Annual Fall FUNraisers in September
Major YWCA operational fundraiser. Target demographic is adults 25+ Boxford north to Portsmouth. Attendance 120-180 depending on venue. Themed event with cocktail party, dinner, entertainment and live auction of premier items including get-away's, art and sports packages. Fundraising goal $30K+.
Heavily promoted and supported within the area business communities and social circles. YWCA and sponsor web site visibility.
Sponsorships: $500 - $10,000
