Summer Swim Lessons:
Stay safe and fit in the water this summer.  At the YWCA, there’s something for everyone; we are offering  2 week and 8 week sessions for children 6+ months and up; all classes are 30 minutes long. Have summer vacation plans?  Take advantage of our two week summer sessions. Sessions meet Monday – Thursday for two weeks beginning at 9:00 am. Planning a Staycation this year?  We also offer 8 week sessions which meet once a week Monday – Saturday beginning at 9:00 am The first session begins on June 28, 2010 and the last session ends August 21, 2010. Scamper Program:
Join us at the YWCA Greater Newburyport for a splashin’, shakin’, singin’ summer at YWCA Scamper Program!  We start each morning in the pool for a half hour of open swim, and then it’s off to explore art, science, music and movement! Each group of campers will be lead by experienced, caring YWCA staff. Scamper Program Director Damon Nilsson brings his many years of experience with children, his love of music and his unbridled enthusiasm to this sure-to-be fun summer! Scamper Program runs from 8:45 – 11:45, Monday through Friday. The program is organized into four 2-week sessions. School’s Out Summer:
Looking for a fun and engaging full day child care program this summer? 
We are excited to announce the return of our popular EEC licensed School’s Out Summer. The program will be staffed by our current strong experienced staff who have been with the YWCA for years who will be joined by some new faces.  School’s Out Summer will be located at the Kelley School which allows us to bring the kids to the YWCA for swimming, fitness activities and other programs. The group will have access to the playgrounds and grassy areas of the Bartlet Mall as well as Cashman Park for outdoor games and activities. The day runs from 8am-6pm.  There are two, three and five day options available. The program begins on June 28, 2010 and runs through August 20, 2010. Click here for more information.

ywfit summer club
Looking for a way to keep your 5th - 8th grader active this summer? This program is designed to meet the unique needs of older elementary/middle school youth, giving them the chance to get fit, have fun and stay active! ywfit meets in two week sessions: Monday through Thursday 4:00 - 5:00pm. Mondays and Wednesdays Teen Zumba with Susan and Ginny. Tuesdays and Thursdays Spin and Strength with Ilene. Click here for more information.

  • Session 1: 6/28 - 7/28
  • Session 2: 7/12 - 7/22
  • Session 3: 7/26 - 8/5
  • Session 4: 8/9 - 8/19

Aqua Sports - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:00-2:00:
Come and join the fun in the YWCA's summer Aqua Sports program designed for active swimmers. This high-energy program is geared towards learning the fundamentals of various water games in an exciting and energetic environment. All participants must be confident, independent swimmers and able to swim 50 yards of the pool. Games will include: volleyball, basketball, water polo, baseball, noodle hockey and more!  

Ages 7-12  Cost $55

  • June 29, July 1, 6, 8
  • July 13, 15, 20, 22
  • July 27, 29, August 3, 5
  • August 10, 12, 17, 19

College Specials:
The YWCA is a fabulous place to stay fit and healthy throughout the summer months. Specials are available for those 18-24 year olds including use of our pools and fitness center. See the Membership desk for more information or send us an email.
