You may not know that the YWCA Greater Newburyport has served the women and families in our community for the past 124 years. You may also not know that we are part of the world's oldest and largest multicultural women's organization; that the YWCA draws together people who strive to create opportunities for women's growth, leadership, and power in order to attain a common vision: peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people; that our mission is to eliminate racism and empower women.

At the YWCA Greater Newburyport we are fulfilling that mission through our many programs and services including:

• Affordable housing for women and families
• Licensed after school childcare
• Summer camp
• Aquatics and fitness
• Racial justice events
• Financial literacy activities
• Breast and cervical cancer outreach and more

These programs are made possible by the generous support of our community members.

Currently we are facing the challenge of operating these programs during the total renovation of our antiquated pool facility. The re-opening of our health and wellness facility in 2008 represents a new beginning for the YWCA Greater Newburyport.
