Welcome Back!
Shutdown is over and after two weeks of cleaning, painting, fixing, and organizing we are officially open again, and we’re excited to welcome you back!
Thank you for your patience during the shutdown. We know the YWCA is part of many people’s regular routines, and we’re grateful for your understanding while we used the closure to tackle projects that are difficult to complete when the building is full of activity.
What Happened While You Were Gone?
A lot.
Pool Improvements: We addressed the significant crack in the warm-water pool and completed extensive cleaning and maintenance in both pools.
Deep Cleaning: Locker rooms and other high-traffic areas received a thorough top-to-bottom cleaning.
Common Spaces: We refreshed the lobby and shared spaces with new artwork and other improvements, including imagery that celebrates the history of the YWCA and highlights the work we do today across health and wellness, childcare, housing, racial justice, advocacy, and more.
Fitness Center: We continued improvements to our fitness spaces and equipment and gave the bright orange wall a fresh coat of paint.
Outside: Trimmed trees, new perennial beds, and updated signage are helping make the YWCA more welcoming and visible throughout the Newburyport community.
Thank You to Our Volunteers
These improvements wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible volunteers, who spent the shutdown weeding, mulching, painting, sanding, hauling, cleaning, and organizing.
We’re incredibly grateful for the time and energy they gave to help us prepare the YWCA for our community’s return.
More Ways to Connect
We’re also excited to share our updated website, making it easier to find classes, schedules, programs, registration information, events, and other YWCA news.
And as of September 13, we’re open seven days a week, with Sunday hours from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. More Sunday programming will be added throughout the fall.
We’re so happy to have you back. Come see what’s new at the YWCA!
