Founded in 1883, YWCA Greater Newburyport is one of the oldest community nonprofits in the region… and we’ve been making history since day one,
Today, everything we do is driven by our mission:
-
Eliminating racism
-
Empowering women
-
Promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all
Here’s how that mission comes to life in our community:
-
Youth Services – Encriching afterschool care at Bresnahan Elementary, plus vacation programs and DPH-licensed summer camps.
-
Early Education – Full-day, year-round care for infants through preschool with affordable, sliding-scale tuition and DEEC vouchers.
-
Affordable Housing – Options for families, seniors, and individuals, supported through state/federal funding and housing vouchers.
-
Aquatics – A lap pool and warm water pool for swim lessons, fitness, and wellness — also serving local hospitals and swim teams.
-
Wellness – Fitness center, group classes, and pools — with free memberships for cancer survivors and others in need.
-
Racial Justice – Events, conversations, and rapid response to racial inequities locally and nationally.
For more than a century, YWCA Greater Newburyport has been a place where people come together to grow stronger, healthier, and more connected. Come visit us today!.
