Join Us for Newburyport’s 6th Annual Indigenous Peoples Day Observance!

The event celebrates traditional and contemporary Indigenous cultural arts, knowledge, and diversity while honoring Indigenous communities of the region and Native Peoples everywhere. The day will feature Indigenous cultural presenters, musicians, artisans, educators, and community partners. Highlights include performances by the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers, Lonecry Singers, and other Indigenous artists and cultural presenters, along with a ceremonial launch and paddle on the Merrimack River featuring traditional Indigenous canoes, including a handcrafted Muhsh8n (mishoon dugout canoe) and a Aputamkon (birch bark canoe).
The event is organized by a grassroots, volunteer-supported coalition and welcomes community members, Indigenous and allied partners, educators, students, volunteers, sponsors, and donors to participate.
