The MBTA Communities Act – The YWCA Greater Newburyport Holds the March Meeting of Housing Choice Coalition
The YWCA Greater Newburyport will hold the next meeting of the Housing Choice Coalition on March 21 from 6PM to 7:30PM at the Amesbury Senior Center at 68 Elm St. and as well as on-line. Rick Taintor, chair of the Newburyport Planning Board, will present an over of the MBTA Communities Act as well as the status of the legislation in each of our communities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to join working groups to discuss housing legislation, housing projects, housing education and community engagement. YWCA Greater Newburyport was founded in 1883 and began offering affordable housing in 1885. Today, it provides 77 units of affordable housing to formerly homeless households, households in which one member is disabled and to the lowest income households.
